What is Sound Therapy?
Sound Therapy uses specific musical instruments to help improve health and wellbeing and facilitate relaxation.
Sound frequencies can bring the mind into a place of deep relaxation, similar to meditation.
When in a deeply relaxed state, the body's self-healing capacity is optimised. As stress can have a big impact on our experience of illness, being able to let go of tension and fully relax is incredibly important.
Everything in the universe, including ourselves, is made up of vibrating particles of energy. Therefore, sound waves can move effortlessly through our bodies and help to release tension.
What I offer:
- Group Sessions of sound and music relaxation. Everyone is invited to close their eyes and listen to the gentle sound of the instruments - gongs, singing bowls, voice, cosmic tone and percussion - for and hour or rest and relaxation. Sessions can be booked for your residential home, community group, work space or event.
- Individual Sound Therapy Sessions working with the chakra system to help bring the body's energy centres into balance using sound frequencies. If you choose, Himalayan bowls can be played directly on the body, allowing you to experience the sound vibrations in an amplified way. In these sessions, you might work on a specific issue, or toward a general goal such as to experience deep relaxation. Other instruments used include Crystal Singing Bowls, Voice and Gong.
- Individual Therapeutic Sound Sessions to help facilitate relaxation and well-being. I work with people with long term or life-limiting health conditions in their own homes. While you sit or lie comfortably, I play gentle sounds of Himalayan Singing Bowls, Gong, Chimes, other instruments and also use my voice. There is the opportunity to talk about feelings and emotions and explore relaxation and sound meditation techniques that you can use in between sessions.
