What is Sound Therapy?

Sound frequencies can bring the mind into a place of deep relaxation, similar to meditation. Sound Therapy uses musical instruments to help improve health and wellbeing on all levels of being - physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and energetic.

When in a deeply relaxed state, our self-healing capacity is optimised.  Stress can have a big impact on our experience of illness, so being able to release tension and fully relax is incredibly important.

Everything in the universe, including ourselves, is made up of vibrating particles of energy, meaning that sound waves can move effortlessly through our bodies and help to release tension.

What I offer:

  • Sound Baths - sound and music relaxation. Everyone is invited to close their eyes and listen to the gentle sound of the instruments - gongs, singing bowls, voice, cosmic tone, percussion and guitar - for and hour or rest and relaxation.
  • Individual Receptive Sound Therapy - working with the chakra system to help bring the body's energy centres into balance using sound frequencies.  In these sessions, you may choose to work on a specific issue, or toward a general goal such as to experience deep relaxation. After we talk about your needs, you lie comfortably on a therapy couch while I play specially selected instruments in your energy field. If you choose, Himalayan bowls can also be played directly on the body, allowing you to experience the sound vibrations in an amplified way. Other instruments used include Crystal Singing Bowls, Voice and Gong.
  • Individual Creative Sound Therapy - for creative exploration and to bring balance to your energy system, you may choose to be involved in playing a variety of sound instruments and using your own voice, as well as receiving sounds which I play for you. These sessions are unique to you and can involve vocal toning, breath work and simple practices to take away and use at home to help maintain the benefits of the session.
