Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi and Sound Relaxation
'I felt so peaceful and relaxed after the classes, but energised too. Ali is a very calming teacher.'
Gentle Exercise: Shibashi
Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi is a wonderful system of movement for rejuvenating, energising and relaxing. Anyone can benefit from this Chinese practice, whether older adults in residential care, office workers who sit at a desks for many hours, or anyone else looking to relax the body and mind, while improving focus and clarity.
Shibashi involves 18 movements, which come from Tai Chi and Qigong. The movements can be adapted to suit people with mobility restrictions and can be performed seated or standing. As a non-aerobic exercise form, it is the perfect to practice in the morning, before work begins, or during the working day.
Sound and Music Relaxation
During a Sound Relaxation, instruments like the gong, crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, Cosmic Tone, percussion and voice, are used to create an atmosphere of deep peace and relaxation. When the mind and body are relaxed, the body’s self healing mechanisms, like the immune system, can work optimally. The session begins with a short, guided meditation and breathing exercises to help initiate the relaxation response. During a session, people can either sit on chairs, or on cushions or yoga mats.
Gentle Exercise: Shibashi and Sound Relaxation
Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi, combined with Sound Relaxation, provides a comprehensive relaxation session. In this session, the gentle movement of Shibashi is complemented by a sound relaxation at the end, using Himalayan Singing Bowls, Cosmic Tone and Chimes.
